ACA Qualification

ACA charter overview

The ACA requires the successful completion of four components:

• 15 exam modules
• 450 days of work experience
• Professional development
• Advancement in ethical understanding and professional scepticism

Eligibility requirements

By ACA Training Agreement: The ICAEW requires that candidates complete three continuous years of practical work experience (450 days). This is acquired through an ACA training agreement with training employers authorised by ICAEW.

Independent Students: If you do not hold a position with an authorised Training employer you are still entitled to register for all exams administered by the Institute. But to be recognized as an ICAEW member you must obtain 450 days experience with an employer approved by ICAEW.

ACA Syllabus from ICAEW

The ACA syllabus is regularly updated for a future-proof qualification. Market changes and the impact of technological developments (e.g. AI, Blockchain, Cyber security, Data analysis) are embedded in the programme.

Certificate level

• Business, Technology and Finance: BPP online courses with Altium Training
• Accounting: BPP online courses with Altium Training
• Assurance: BPP online courses with Altium Training
• Management Information: BPP online courses with Altium Training
• Law, and Principles of Taxation may be covered through courses at SOEL (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece) or contact us to follow the UK versions.

Professional level

• Financial Accounting and Reporting: 104 hours of tuition and revision
• Audit and Assurance: 80 hours of tuition and revision
• Financial Management: 80 hours of tuition and revision
• Business Strategy and Technology: 88 hours of tuition and revision
• Tax Compliance, and Business Planning may be covered through courses at SOEL (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece) or contact us to follow the UK versions.

Advanced level

• Corporate Reporting: 104 hours of tuition and revision
• Strategic Business Management: 104 hours of tuition and revision
• Case Study: 104 hours of tuition and revision
